Google's AI video generation tool, Veo 3, is now accessible to Gemini app 'Pro' subscribers in India and 158 other countries. This expansion, announced on Wednesday evening by Google's Josh Woodward, allows users to generate videos directly within the Gemini app.
Veo 3, which was unveiled at Google I/O in May 2025, lets users create eight-second, AI-generated videos with sound, including synthesized speech, background music, and sound effects. Users can create videos from imaginative stories to surreal creations using simple text or image prompts. Google touts "real-world physics and accurate lip syncing".
Veo 3 was initially launched for AI Ultra subscribers at $249.99 per month and later brought to the AI Pro tier ($19.99) with "Veo 3 Fast" in June. The 720p clips are still eight seconds long, but generation is twice as fast due to various serving optimizations. Gemini app Pro subscribers can generate three Veo 3 Fast videos daily, after which they revert to Veo 2. Google also stated that there are now "fewer blocks when generating". The photo-to-video generation feature is expected to be available soon.
Veo 3 is accessible worldwide in all regions supported by the Gemini app via the Google AI Pro subscription. This subscription offers Veo 3 video generation and advanced AI features like 2.5 Pro, Veo 2 Video Tools, Whisk, NotebookLM, Gemini Integration, and 2 TB of cloud storage.
Google employs extensive red-teaming, strict policy enforcement, and AI safety checks to ensure responsible use. All videos created from user photos include a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID digital watermark indicating AI generation.
To start using Veo 3, users in India need a Google AI Pro subscription. Here’s how to get started:
David Sharon, Multimodal Generation Lead at Gemini Apps, commented on the rollout: "These amazing creations are why we on the Veo 3 team do what we do — and why we're making Veo 3 available to more people around the world".
