Indian Railways has launched the RailOne app, a comprehensive platform designed to integrate all passenger services into a single, user-friendly interface. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the app on Tuesday, coinciding with the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). CRIS, the technology arm of Indian Railways, developed the RailOne app as a one-stop solution for various passenger needs, including ticket booking, PNR status checks, live train tracking, food ordering, and grievance redressal.
The RailOne app consolidates services previously spread across multiple apps, offering a unified platform for reserved, unreserved, and platform ticket bookings. Users can track PNR status, get live train updates, find coach positions on platforms, order food, and access Rail Madad for grievance redressal. The app also allows users to provide feedback on services and apply for refunds in case of train cancellations.
A key feature of the RailOne app is its focus on user experience, providing a straightforward and uncluttered interface. It offers a single sign-on capability, eliminating the need to remember multiple passwords. Existing users of RailConnect or UTSonMobile can use their credentials to register on RailOne. New users can also benefit from a simplified registration process requiring minimal information.
The RailOne app integrates an R-Wallet, a digital wallet for secure and convenient payments for various services. Users can access their accounts using a numeric mPIN or biometric authentication. The app is available for download on both Android Play Store and iOS App Store.
Key features of the RailOne app include:
The RailOne app aims to enhance user convenience by offering single sign-on, eliminating the need for multiple apps, and providing a cleaner interface. Future enhancements include revised Tatkal booking with user verification, an upgraded reservation system for faster processing, and multilingual support. The app has received authorization from IRCTC, similar to other commercial applications partnering with IRCTC, making ticket booking seamless. By consolidating all railway services into one platform, RailOne aims to save device storage space and provide comprehensive Indian Railway functionalities. However, freight-related inquiries are not yet available on the app.
