Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the parent company of Truth Social, has filed trademark applications for "Truth Social AI" and "Truth Social AI Search". This move signals a significant push towards integrating artificial intelligence into its social media platform, as well as its streaming platform Truth+ and fintech service Truth.Fi. The company, which trades under the ticker DJT on Nasdaq and NYSE Texas, plans to incorporate AI functionality across Truth Social's iOS and Android mobile apps, as well as its web platform.
According to Devin Nunes, Trump Media's CEO and Chairman, integrating AI into Truth Social is a major step in expanding and enhancing the platform. The goal is to develop the Truth Social "ecosphere" into a comprehensive hub for "reliable information, non-woke news, and entertainment". TMTG aims to enhance the platform with personalized content and reliable information using AI technology. The new AI-driven features will target Truth Social's users who seek non-mainstream news and entertainment. While specific details about the AI rollout are still limited, the trademark filings suggest that the company is planning both generative AI tools and AI-powered search capabilities within the platform.
In addition to its AI initiatives, Trump Media is also accelerating its plans to launch a suite of "America-first" digital asset investment products. The company recently filed a registration statement with the SEC seeking approval for the Truth Social Crypto Blue Chip ETF, which would hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Cronos. This proposed ETF is part of Trump Media's broader crypto strategy, which includes filings for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, along with plans to establish crypto treasury holdings worth billions of dollars.
TMTG has partnered with other companies to create investment portfolios that support "non-woke" companies. TMTG CEO and Chairman Devin Nunes stated that they are moving forward with a series of America First investment products that meet investors' demand to support a wide range of outstanding, non-woke, and innovative companies across key sectors of the U.S. economy.
Truth Social, launched in 2022 and backed by former President Donald Trump, has aimed to position itself as a "free speech" alternative to mainstream platforms like Twitter/X and Facebook. As social media networks increasingly incorporate AI-driven features, Truth Social's move reflects broader industry trends.
Trump Media also launched the global TV streaming service Truth+ platform. It is marketed as a new home for conservative and “non-woke” content, Truth+ aims to offer a curated mix of live TV channels and on-demand programming that aligns with traditional, family-friendly values. The platform's launch marks a significant expansion of Trump's ongoing efforts to create a full-fledged alternative to mainstream media, building on the foundation of his social media platform Truth Social. Newsmax, a right-leaning news outlet known for its favorable coverage of Trump, is a flagship channel.
