Samsung is gearing up to launch its next-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, with the unveiling event scheduled for July 9 in Brooklyn, New York. As the launch date approaches, details about the Galaxy Z Fold 7, including its potential price in India, have been surfacing.

Expected Price and Variants

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is anticipated to launch in India with a starting price of ₹1,69,990. However, recent reports suggest that the price could range from ₹175,000 to ₹179,000. This represents a significant increase compared to the launch price of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. To make the purchase more accessible, options for Easy EMIs through Bajaj Finserv may be available.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come in various configurations, offering 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. Color options may include Black, Silver, and Phantom Green.

Design and Display

Samsung has been teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as the "thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable" yet. Rumors indicate that the device will measure a mere 3.9mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. The design is expected to be similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, featuring a vertical triple camera setup in a pill-shaped design. The device is also rumored to have ultra-slim bezels and a center punch-hole cutout for the front camera.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a larger 6.5-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. When unfolded, the device will reveal an 8.2-inch AMOLED inner display, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner display is expected to have a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels. Samsung is also rumored to be improving the crease visibility on the main display, with some reports suggesting it could be eliminated entirely.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chipset should provide a significant performance boost compared to previous generations, enhancing gaming, multitasking, and AI capabilities. The device is likely to come with 12GB of RAM, with a 16GB option potentially available. Storage options are expected to range from 256GB to 1TB.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may launch with One UI 8 based on Android 16. However, if One UI 8 is not ready in time, it may ship with One UI 7.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 200MP primary sensor. This would be a significant upgrade from the 50MP sensor on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The other cameras are expected to include a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front cover is likely to house a 10MP selfie camera, and the inner display may have a 4MP under-display camera.

Battery and Charging

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to have a 4,400mAh battery. It is expected to support 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

Other Features

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to offer enhanced durability, including a stronger foldable screen and a redesigned hinge mechanism. Samsung has also teased AI-powered camera capabilities and visual search functionality.
