England's women's cricket team has suffered a significant setback as their captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, has been ruled out of the entire T20I series against India due to a left groin injury. This is a major blow for the team, especially with Heather Knight already sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Sciver-Brunt sustained the injury and underwent a scan to determine the extent of the damage. The results of the scan have confirmed that she will miss the remainder of the T20I series. However, she is expected to recover in time for the ODI series against India, which is scheduled to begin on July 16.

In Sciver-Brunt's absence, Tammy Beaumont, who was recently recalled to the squad, has stepped in to captain the side. Sophia Dunkley, the designated understudy, will remain as vice-captain. The experienced Beaumont brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, having played in 246 international games. Maia Bouchier, a top-order batter, has been drafted into the squad as cover for Sciver-Brunt. Bouchier is known for her aggressive stroke play and provides a reliable replacement option for the team.

The T20I series against India has been challenging for England so far. India currently leads the five-match series 2-1. India won the first match by 97 runs and the second match by 24 runs. In the third T20I, England managed to secure a narrow five-run victory. Despite being 2-1 down in the series, Beaumont remains optimistic about England's chances of making a comeback. She urged the team to stay calm and focused, believing that they have the ability to win the series.

The absence of Sciver-Brunt is a significant loss for England, as she is a key player and a prolific run-scorer. In the first two games of the series, she scored 66 and 13 respectively. Her leadership and experience will also be missed. However, Beaumont's experience and Bouchier's aggressive batting style will provide England with some firepower as they aim to level the series.

The fourth T20I is scheduled for July 9 in Manchester, and the fifth will be held on July 12 in Birmingham. England will need to win both matches to secure a series victory.
