Enzo Maresca has made it clear that any Chelsea players who are unhappy at the club are free to leave. This statement comes amidst a busy summer transfer window for the Blues, with several new signings and speculation surrounding the futures of current players.

Maresca's stance reflects his desire to have a squad of players fully committed to the club's goals. Speaking after Chelsea's 2-1 quarter-final win against Palmeiras at the Club World Cup, Maresca stated, "My message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us. The ones that are not happy, they are free to go".

Chelsea have been active in the transfer market, bringing in players such as Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, and Jamie Gittens. The club has recently completed a £51.5 million deal for 20-year-old winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, with the player signing a contract until 2032. Gittens, who has experience in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League, expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea, saying, "It's a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea. I can't wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It's an amazing feeling".

With the arrival of new players, there is potential for departures as well. Several players, including Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix, Axel Disasi, and Ben Chilwell, have been mentioned as possible candidates to move on. There has also been speculation regarding the futures of Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku, and Nicolas Jackson. Sky Sports News reports that Chelsea is expecting an offer from Arsenal for 23-year-old winger Noni Madueke.

The need to balance the books is also a significant factor influencing Chelsea's transfer decisions. The club was recently punished by UEFA for breaching financial regulations and faces restrictions on registering new players for the Champions League if they do not achieve a "positive balance" in the transfer window. This financial pressure makes it crucial for Chelsea to sell players. The club faces a basic £26.7 million fine that could rise to £77.9 million if certain conditions are unmet.

Maresca, however, remains focused on his primary responsibilities. When asked about the financial implications, he stated that he concentrates on working with the players, improving the team, and winning games. He is more interested in discussing the performance of players like Joao Pedro, who made his debut as a substitute after a £60 million move from Brighton.

In line with Chelsea's active transfer dealings, there are reports of the club being interested in other players, including Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri. Meanwhile, striker Victor Osimhen remains a potential target for Chelsea, although the club has already addressed key needs in the transfer market. Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Tyler Dibling.
