The upcoming action thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, has made a significant pre-release move in the Telugu market. Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments has secured the Telugu distribution rights for a reported ₹80 crore.

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is a key installment in the YRF Spy Universe and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 14 in standard and IMAX formats.

The acquisition of the Telugu rights by Naga Vamsi is seen as a major investment, highlighting the film's potential in the Telugu-speaking regions. Industry sources suggest that the ₹80 crore deal is among the most expensive Telugu rights acquisitions for a Bollywood film. While Naga Vamsi hasn't officially confirmed the deal amount, it is understood to be one of the biggest in the industry. Previously, Sithara Entertainments acquired the Telugu rights for Jr NTR's Devara for ₹120 crore.

Naga Vamsi expressed his excitement about reuniting with Jr NTR after previously collaborating on Aravindha Sametha and Devara. He is confident that War 2 will mark a hat-trick of successes for them. In a statement, Naga Vamsi conveyed his enthusiasm and assured fans that they would witness Jr NTR in an unprecedented avatar. He also thanked the cast and crew for including Sithara Entertainments in the project.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) initially planned to handle the distribution themselves but later decided to partner with a local distributor, acknowledging Jr NTR's strong fan base in the Telugu states. The decision to collaborate with Sithara Entertainments was influenced by Jr NTR's immense popularity in the region.

The teaser for War 2 was released on Jr NTR's birthday, generating immense buzz and offering a glimpse of the action-packed sequel. The teaser hints at thrilling confrontations and high-octane action sequences. Character posters of Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani have also been released, further building anticipation.

To maintain the intrigue around Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's on-screen presence, the two stars will not appear together in promotional campaigns. This strategy aims to heighten audience excitement and preserve the surprise of their on-screen chemistry.

War 2 is a sequel to the 2019 hit film War. The original film featured Hrithik Roshan alongside Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. Ayan Mukerji, known for directing films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra, is directing War 2. The film is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
