Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal, who was recently celebrating the team's IPL 2025 victory, is now facing serious allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against him based on a complaint filed by a woman from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The complainant alleges a five-year-long relationship with Dayal, during which she was subjected to emotional, physical, and financial exploitation under the false pretense of marriage. She claims that Dayal introduced her to his family and led her to believe that they would marry, thus gaining her trust. However, when she confronted him about his intentions and alleged affairs with other women, he reportedly became violent and continued to harass her. The woman also stated that Dayal took money from her during their relationship.
According to reports, the woman initially filed her complaint on June 21 through the Chief Minister's online grievance portal (IGRS). Dissatisfied with the lack of progress at the local police station, she escalated the matter to the Chief Minister's office. The FIR was eventually registered at the Indirapuram police station.
Dayal has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual acts committed under false pretenses, such as false assurances of marriage or employment. This section treats such acts as a form of fraud and exploitation, punishable by up to ten years in prison, along with a fine.
The complainant stated that she possesses evidence to support her allegations, including chat records, screenshots, video calls, and photos. She also alleged that Dayal had similar relationships with other women, and that she discovered this information later in their relationship. She claims that at least three other women have contacted her with similar experiences. Furthermore, she alleges that Dayal used the same app on their phones to order household items and that he stayed in a Lucknow hotel on June 7, ordering objectionable items.
The woman has also stated that the situation led to her suffering from depression, for which she sought treatment. She claims to have attempted suicide multiple times due to the mental anguish caused by Dayal's actions and his family's false assurances.
Yash Dayal, a left-arm fast bowler, played a crucial role in RCB's IPL 2025 title win, taking 13 wickets in 15 matches. He was retained by RCB ahead of the 2025 mega auction for INR 5 crore. He previously played for Gujarat Titans, contributing to their title victory in 2022.
Authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the allegations against Dayal. According to a police official, Dayal has recorded his statement. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be initiated once the facts are clear.
