A harrowing incident unfolded in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, where a five-year-old boy was brutally attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The incident, captured on CCTV, highlights the growing menace of stray dogs in the area and has sparked outrage among residents.
On July 7, 2025, Anik, was playing near his home in Ward No. 26, Amiya Tripathi Nagar, under Kasya Kotwali jurisdiction when the pack of 5-6 stray dogs attacked him. The dogs dragged the child approximately 20 meters onto the road and began biting him. The chilling video shows the dogs viciously mauling the boy, who can be heard crying for help.
Fortunately, a neighbor, identified as Nancy, noticed the attack on a CCTV monitor and immediately rushed to the boy's rescue. Anik's mother, who was inside the house, also heard his cries and ran outside. Together, they managed to chase the dogs away from the child.
Anik sustained 18 deep wounds in the attack and was immediately taken to a local Community Health Center (CHC). Doctors referred him to a medical college for further treatment. After receiving treatment, Anik was discharged the next evening but remains traumatized by the incident.
The incident has ignited fear and anger among the residents of Kasya Nagar, who claim that stray dog attacks have become increasingly common. They অভিযোগ that the Nagar Panchayat administration has failed to take adequate measures to control the stray dog population, despite previous attacks. Locals are demanding immediate action to address the issue and prevent future incidents. They are calling for the authorities to catch the stray dogs and take steps to ensure the safety of children and other vulnerable individuals in the community.
