Ankit Gupta, the television actor known for his roles in "Udaariyaan" and "Bigg Boss 16," has recently made significant changes to his lifestyle following a health scare. This includes adopting a vegetarian diet and reflecting on his unexpected journey into the world of reality television.
Gupta's decision to become a vegetarian was prompted by a serious health episode involving gastric and panic attacks, which led to his hospitalization. He revealed that he didn't transition to vegetarianism for religious reasons but out of necessity for his well-being. Describing the terrifying experience, Gupta shared that he felt breathlessness, and his blood pressure spiked, creating a sensation of being unable to breathe. Doctors advised him to avoid non-vegetarian food and adopt a balanced diet, which is being monitored by a dietitian to ensure a safe recovery. He is also on a program where he documents his daily food and drink intake. This health scare served as a wake-up call, pushing him to be more mindful of his lifestyle and diet.
During a recent visit from filmmaker Farah Khan for her cooking vlog, Gupta surprised her by announcing his dietary change. Khan, who had planned to cook Tawa Chicken, was taken aback, but Gupta reassured her that he would still eat the dish out of respect for her efforts. This incident highlights Gupta's willingness to adjust his new vegetarian routine for social situations, showcasing his practical approach to his health.
In addition to his health journey, Gupta has also spoken about his experience on "Bigg Boss 16." He revealed that his participation in the show was not a planned decision. After his character was dropped from "Udaariyaan," he was signed for another show titled "Junooniyatt". However, with a gap of three to four months before the new show was set to begin, he was presented with three options: "Khatron Ke Khiladi," "Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa," or "Bigg Boss 16". After weeks of negotiations, he ultimately entered the Bigg Boss house.
Gupta has expressed that he didn't choose to be on "Bigg Boss;" rather, he was sent to the show. Despite this, his time on "Bigg Boss" brought him significant recognition and a dedicated fan base. He admitted that he felt like a misfit in the show but learned a valuable lesson about not underestimating people. He was skeptical about receiving love from the audience because he wasn't arguing or fighting. He was overwhelmed by the love and support he received when he got evicted. The day people found out about his eviction, he was trending on Twitter with 2.5 million tweets.
Since "Bigg Boss 16," Gupta has been focused on doing good work. He is currently starring in a new show for Star Plus titled "Maati Se Bandhi Dor," where he is paired with Marathi actress Rutuja Bagwe. Gupta's character, Rannvijay, comes from a wealthy farming family but moves to a busy city for his education. The show emphasizes unique relationships and staying connected to one's roots. Gupta has also spoken about becoming more outspoken after his "Bigg Boss 16" experience, emphasizing the importance of transparency and communication with his audience. He believes that sharing his thoughts and processes helps to build a stronger bond with his fans.
