The mysterious disappearance of 19-year-old Sneha Debnath, a Delhi University student from Tripura, has sparked widespread concern and a multi-agency search operation. Sneha was last seen on July 7, 2025, near the Signature Bridge in Delhi. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are perplexing, with a final phone call, a missed meeting, and a drop-off at a location with limited CCTV coverage adding to the enigma.

Sneha, a student of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, contacted her family on the morning of July 7th, informing them of her plans to go to the Sarai Rohilla railway station with a friend named Pitunia. The last call from Sneha was at 5:56 am. However, by 8:45 am, her phone was switched off. When the family contacted Pitunia, they learned that Sneha never met her that morning.

Further investigation by Sneha's family revealed that a cab driver had dropped her near the Signature Bridge. This location is known to have safety issues and, critically, lacks functional CCTV cameras. The absence of CCTV footage has severely hampered efforts by the police to trace Sneha's movements after she exited the cab.

The Delhi Police, along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), launched an extensive search operation within a seven-kilometer radius around the Signature Bridge on July 9th. Despite these efforts, no concrete clues regarding Sneha's whereabouts have been found.

Adding to the mystery, Sneha's family has stated that she left without any personal belongings and had not withdrawn any money from her bank account for the past four months. Her bank account remains untouched.

The disappearance has drawn the attention of Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, whose office has acknowledged the case and directed the police to take immediate action. The Tripura Chief Minister’s Office stated that instructions were promptly issued to the police to take immediate and appropriate action.

The lack of functional CCTV cameras around the Signature Bridge has become a focal point, highlighting the security gaps in the city. Sneha's family believes that functional cameras might have provided crucial information about what happened to their daughter.
