Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. The actress recently shared the joyous news of her pregnancy on social media, and the couple has since expressed their excitement about embarking on this new chapter. In a recent interview, Patralekhaa shared her mother's heartwarming reaction to the pregnancy, revealing that her mother "couldn't believe it because at one point she had given up on us".
Patralekhaa recounted that her mother had reached a point where she stopped asking about their family plans. "I remember one day she said, 'You guys don't want to plan it... I am not going to ask you anymore,'" Patralekhaa shared. Therefore, the pregnancy news came as a delightful surprise. Patralekhaa's mother is now super thrilled about becoming a grandmother.
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, who have been married since November 15, 2021, are both excited about becoming parents. They view parenthood as a natural progression in their relationship. Patralekhaa mentioned that her "motherly instinct" has already kicked in, thanks to their two puppies. Rajkummar added that he was ready to start a family whenever Patralekhaa felt the time was right. "So, one day we discussed that maybe now we should take that next step and extend our family. God's been really kind," he said.
The couple also shared their thoughts on parenting. Rajkummar expressed his desire to instill in their child the values his parents taught him: honesty, kindness, and compassion. Patralekhaa added that she is sure Rajkummar will be a great father.
Patralekhaa is taking a break from shooting to focus on her pregnancy and prepare for the baby's arrival. She plans to stay at home for the next 6-7 months. However, she and Rajkummar are also excited about their upcoming project on Netflix, which is a production close to their hearts.
The couple, who are brand ambassadors for Tourism New Zealand, recently enjoyed a break in New Zealand. Patralekhaa modified her activities to accommodate her pregnancy, avoiding boat rides, bungee jumping, and skydiving. She envisions future travels with their child, "We are thinking that once the baby is here, we must do a trip to the southern part of New Zealand because we didn't cover that". She even joked about doing "some bungee jumping or something crazier with the baby".
