Following the immense success of "RRR," Ram Charan is currently filming "Peddi," a highly anticipated Telugu film directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The movie, which is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, has already generated considerable buzz.

Amidst the excitement surrounding "Peddi," producer Naga Vamsi hinted that Ram Charan might undertake another project before commencing his collaboration with director Sukumar. This statement, made during a promotional interview for Vijay Deverakonda's "Kingdom," has ignited speculation among fans.

Ram Charan is set to collaborate with director Sukumar for a project tentatively titled "RC 17". This marks their second venture together after the blockbuster "Rangasthalam". Sukumar has already begun working on the script and pre-production. Expectations are high for this collaboration, especially after the success of Sukumar's "Pushpa: The Rule". "RC 17" is slated to begin immediately after Ram Charan completes "Peddi". The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who also produced "Rangasthalam" and the "Pushpa" series, with music by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP).

The possibility of Ram Charan doing a "quick film" before "RC 17" has led to fan speculation, with some suggesting that director Trivikram could be involved. However, details remain scarce, and fans are awaiting further information.

"Peddi" is a sports drama set against a village backdrop. Ram Charan will be seen playing a rugged and intense character with long hair, a thick beard, and a nose ring. He will be playing cricket in the film, and the film is set in a village. Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead, with music by A.R. Rahman. The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles.

"Peddi" is being produced on a grand scale, with a budget exceeding ₹250 crore and possibly reaching ₹300 crore. A massive set resembling Vizianagaram town from the 1980s is being constructed near Hyderabad. Art director Avinash Kolla is recreating villages, roads, a railway station, and a sports stadium to capture the era and feel of the story. Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights for "Peddi" for approximately ₹105–110 crore, marking one of the highest deals for a Telugu film. The film's narrative revolves around a spirited villager who inspires his community through sports, specifically cricket, set in the 1980s in rural Andhra Pradesh.

Ram Charan's career includes hits such as "Magadheera" and "Rangasthalam". After the global success of "RRR" and the mixed reception of "Game Changer", "Peddi" is considered a crucial release for him as he aims for consistent pan-India success.
