The Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are reuniting for the upcoming thriller Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan. Priyadarshan has officially announced the film and its title via social media. He posted a photo of Kumar and Khan at Lord's Cricket Ground, further exciting fans about the project.
This collaboration marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after 17 years, since their appearance in the 2008 film Tashan. Fans are excited about this reunion, anticipating a blend of action, thrill, and drama. One fan commented, "Another blockbuster in the making," while another referenced their past hit, "Main Khiladi Tu Anari pair".
The film, Haiwaan, which translates to "beast" in English, is produced with the intent to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller. A source indicates that the title was chosen unanimously, aligning with the characters portrayed by the lead actors. The title suggests a gripping narrative, fitting the intense roles that Akshay and Saif will be taking on.
Priyadarshan confirmed that shooting is scheduled to commence in August in Kochi, with the second part of the filming to take place in Mumbai. He expects Haiwaan to be completed by November and released in 2026. As of now, the female lead for the project has not been announced.
Akshay Kumar recently finished filming Bhooth Bangla, also directed by Priyadarshan. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan's last film appearance was in Jewel Thief.
Reportedly, Haiwaan is a Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam movie Oppam (2016), which starred Mohanlal. In this adaptation, Kumar is expected to play the antagonist.
Priyadarshan also mentioned his excitement about working with Akshay again, highlighting Haiwaan as one of three upcoming collaborations, including Bhooth Bangla and Hera Pheri 3.
