Following Deepika Padukone's departure from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Spirit," Triptii Dimri has expressed her enthusiasm about reuniting with the director after their successful collaboration on "Animal". This marks Dimri's second project with Vanga, and she has conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity to work with him again.
News of Dimri joining the cast of "Spirit," which stars Prabhas, surfaced after reports indicated that Padukone exited the film due to "unprofessional behaviour" and disagreements over shoot timings and contract amendments. Sources suggest Padukone refused to shoot for more than six hours a day, leading to a conflict with Vanga.
Dimri, who gained significant recognition for her role in "Animal," has opened up about the emotional challenges she faced following the film's release. While she appreciated the positive feedback, she was also affected by the criticism directed at her performance and the film's bold scenes. In an interview, Dimri revealed that she cried for days after reading harsh comments on social media, noting that she was unprepared for such negativity. She credited her sister for helping her navigate this difficult period, encouraging her to own her journey and not dwell on negativity.
Despite the criticism, Dimri remains optimistic about her career and is excited about her future projects, including "Spirit". In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, she expressed her excitement about working with Vanga again, adding that "Spirit" is a beautiful film.
"Spirit" is described as a pan-Indian action entertainer, with Prabhas playing a fierce police officer. The film is set to begin filming in 2025 and is produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures. The movie will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, targeting a global audience. Reports suggest that the film will explore a love story between Prabhas and Triptii's characters as they navigate challenging situations.
The controversy surrounding Padukone's exit from "Spirit" involved reports of disagreements over remuneration, with some sources claiming she asked for ₹20 crore along with profit sharing and fixed shooting conditions. Some media outlets labeled her demands as unreasonable. Vanga also posted a cryptic message on X, seemingly accusing Padukone of leaking details about the movie and questioning her integrity. Padukone responded indirectly, emphasizing the importance of following her inner voice during tough situations.
Following the casting announcement, veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma praised Vanga's decision to cast Dimri, predicting that she would become the next big thing in Bollywood. It has also been reported that Triptii Dimri has secured her biggest paycheck till date of ₹6 crore for her role in "Spirit".
