Bryson DeChambeau couldn't resist a playful jab at Scottie Scheffler after finishing his final round at the Open Championship on Sunday. As Scheffler was dominating the field at Royal Portrush, DeChambeau, reflecting on his own performance, couldn't help but reminisce about their college days.

DeChambeau, who shot a remarkable 16-under par over the final three rounds after an initial disastrous 7-over 78, acknowledged Scheffler's commanding lead. "Scottie's in a league of his own right now," DeChambeau said. Then came the playful dig: "I played with him a lot in college, and he was not that good, so he's figured out a lot of stuff since...".

DeChambeau's comment came after he turned his Open Championship around with stellar play following a disastrous first round. After shooting a 78 on Thursday, he bounced back with rounds of 65, 68, and a final round 64. His final three rounds were the second-lowest score over the last 54 holes in the history of The Open. DeChambeau finished the tournament tied for 10th.

Scheffler's performance at the Open Championship continued his dominant run in major championships. He held a four-stroke lead heading into the final round, positioning himself for a potential fourth major title. Scheffler already has three major wins, including the 2022 Masters, the 2024 Masters, and the 2025 PGA Championship.

DeChambeau's lighthearted jab highlights the camaraderie and competitive spirit among professional golfers. Even as Scheffler aims for another major victory, his peers can still find moments to share in some friendly banter.
