The much-anticipated historical action drama "Hari Hara Veera Mallu" (HHVM), starring Pawan Kalyan, is generating significant buzz ahead of its release on July 24, 2025. Early reviews have surfaced online, creating a stir among fans and movie enthusiasts.

Set in the 17th-century Mughal Empire, the film follows the story of Veera Mallu, a legendary outlaw who rises against Mughal tyranny. He embarks on a mission to steal the Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Mughals, aiming to fund his revolution and symbolize resistance against the empire.

Pawan Kalyan's performance is a major highlight, with reviewers praising his powerful and intense portrayal of Veera Mallu. One Twitter user described it as a "golden role" for Kalyan, emphasizing the intensity he brought to the character. Another review noted that Kalyan is "mesmerizing as a savior of sanatana dharma against [the] moghals".

The film's action sequences and visual effects (VFX) have also garnered attention. A Twitter review mentioned "perfectly choreographed" action with "excellent VFX shots". Another user called the film a "visual extravaganza" with "breathtaking action episodes" and "top-notch VFX". However, some reviews contrast these opinions, with one calling the VFX "tacky".

While some initial reviews are positive, others point out shortcomings in the first half. One review described the first half as "largely flat overall," while another stated that the "drama feels tiring" and the "dialogues are terribly written". This suggests that the film's success hinges on a strong second half to compensate for the perceived weaknesses in the initial part.

Despite mixed reviews of the first half, pre-sales for "Hari Hara Veera Mallu" have been impressive. As of July 22, 2025, the film has grossed ₹12.5 crore worldwide through advance bookings, including premiere shows. Recent reports state that the first day pre-sales have crossed ₹30 crore gross globally. The film is having its premiere in the Telugu states today (July 23), where pre-sales have reached approximately ₹7 crore gross. In North America alone, premiere sales are around ₹4.50 crore gross, with over 18,000 tickets sold. These figures indicate a massive opening for the film.

Pawan Kalyan's active involvement in promoting the film has also contributed to the positive buzz. For the first time, he promoted the film and interacted with the media for 3 days. His participation in pre-release events in Hyderabad and Vizag has made a significant difference in raising expectations.

"Hari Hara Veera Mallu" is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A. M. Jyothi Krishna. The film features an ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Sathyaraj. The cinematography is by Manoj Paramahamsa and Gnana Shekar V.S., with music composed by M. M. Keeravani and editing by KL Praveen. The action sequences are choreographed by a team of renowned stunt directors, including Nick Powell, Ram-Laxman, and Peter Hein.

The film is scheduled to be released in two parts, with the first part titled "HHVM: Sword vs Spirit". Pawan Kalyan has also discussed the possibility of a sequel based on the first film's success and his availability. He clarified that the film is entirely fictional and not connected to the historical figure Sarvai Papanna.
