The highly anticipated second season of "Gen V" is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 17, 2025, with the first three episodes, followed by weekly releases until the finale on October 22. The new trailer, revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, teases a thrilling sophomore year for the students at Godolkin University, filled with explosive tensions, familiar faces from "The Boys," and intriguing new characters.

One of the most exciting announcements is the addition of Ethan Slater, known for his role in "Wicked," to the cast. Slater will be playing Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the university, and his character seems to be at the center of a new mystery. The trailer hints at "Project Odessa," a top-secret research program spearheaded by Godolkin, which Marie Moreau is tasked with investigating.

Adding to the excitement, Chace Crawford will be reprising his role as The Deep from "The Boys". The Deep's appearance suggests a deeper connection between the two shows, with "Gen V" Season 2 serving as a bridge to the events of "The Boys" Season 5. Erin Moriarty will also appear in Season 2 as Annie January / Starlight, as she has a task for Marie Moreau. Nathan Mitchell will also appear as Black Noir.

The official synopsis for Season 2 sets the stage for a darker and more complex storyline. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, Godolkin University has a mysterious new Dean named Cipher who preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by trauma and loss. War is brewing between humans and Supes, and the gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University, which may have larger implications than they realize.

The season will see the return of Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, and Asa Germann as Sam Riordan. Sean Patrick Thomas, who recurred in Season 1 as Polarity, is a series regular in Season 2. Hamish Linklater will be joining the cast as Dean Cipher.

Notably, the season will address the absence of Andre Anderson, following the tragic passing of actor Chance Perdomo. While the character will not be recast, his death will be acknowledged and will have a major impact on the storyline. The trailer features Andre's father, Polarity, looking at old pictures of his son, hinting at the emotional weight the loss will carry.

"Gen V" Season 2 is shaping up to be a thrilling and politically charged season, with new mysteries, returning characters, and a deeper exploration of the complex world of "The Boys". With its premiere just around the corner, fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this gripping superhero satire.
