The IAS Central Association has a new President, S. Krishnan, who was elected during the General Body Meeting in New Delhi on July 26, 2025. Krishnan, a 1989 batch IAS officer from Tamil Nadu, currently serves as the Union Secretary for Electronics & IT. The newly elected Executive Committee also includes Taranikanti Sriram, Director of LBSNAA, and A. Anbarasu, Principal Secretary (Home) of the Delhi Government, as Vice Presidents. Kunal, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, has been appointed as Secretary, and Aditi Singh, Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, is the new Treasurer.
The Central IAS Association serves as a crucial platform for addressing the concerns and aspirations of IAS officers across various cadres. With the new leadership at the helm, the association is expected to focus on key issues such as cadre welfare, professional development, and policy engagement. Krishnan's administrative experience and expertise are expected to bring renewed direction to the association. The diverse perspectives of Sriram and Anbarasu are also expected to energize discussions on bureaucratic reforms and service conditions.
In his presidential address, S. Krishnan emphasized the importance of the IAS community actively demonstrating its value to the system through collaborative engagement, ethical leadership, and institutional contribution. He highlighted the need for mentoring younger officers, promoting the service's positive work in the public sphere, and strengthening partnerships with state associations. Krishnan called for unity, urging members to work together with purpose and presence, especially by leveraging digital platforms to highlight governance successes and inspire confidence in public service.
The newly elected Executive Committee consists of 18 members. The committee includes Joint Secretaries Chinmay Gotmare and Shelesh Nawal, along with retired members Sanjay Bandhopadhyaya and Sanjay Bhoosreddy. Other members include D. Thara, Rahul Singh, Prasanna R, Nitin Khade, Dinesh Kumar, Rohan Chand Thakur, Manasi Sahay Thakur, Shah Faesal, and Naveen Aggarwal.
The Central IAS Association plays a vital role in addressing the concerns, welfare, and professional development of IAS officers.
