Highly-rated Tottenham forward Mikey Moore is reportedly on the verge of joining Rangers on a season-long loan for the 2025-26 campaign. The deal is not expected to include an option to buy. Both Tottenham and Moore believe that a full season of senior football is the next logical step in his development.
Moore, who is capable of playing across the attack as a winger or in a central No.10 role, is considered one of Tottenham's brightest young talents. Several clubs across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund, were interested in acquiring him. However, Moore chose Rangers, despite receiving multiple offers from Championship clubs, because he anticipates receiving regular first-team minutes at Ibrox.
The 17-year-old made 12 Premier League appearances for Tottenham last season, providing one assist. He also played five times in Europe as Tottenham went on to win the Europa League. Moore also scored his first senior goal for the club in a group-stage victory over Swedish side Elfsborg.
Born on August 11, 2007, Mikey Steven Danny Moore joined Tottenham Hotspur as an U9 player. He progressed through the ranks, playing for the U17s, U18s, and U19s, and also debuted for the U21s at the age of 15. In the 2022–23 season, he helped Tottenham win the U17 and U18 Premier League Cups. On June 17, 2023, Moore signed a schoolboy contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
On May 14, 2024, Moore made his first-team debut in a Premier League match against Manchester City, becoming the youngest Tottenham player to play in the Premier League at the age of 16 years and 277 days. He signed a three-year professional contract with Tottenham on August 12, 2024. Moore made his European debut on September 26, 2024, in a UEFA Europa League match against Qarabağ FK. He made his first senior start in a Europa League match against Ferencváros on October 3, 2024.
Moore also started in a Premier League match against Crystal Palace on October 27, 2024, becoming the youngest player to start in a Premier League match for Tottenham since Stephen Carr in 1993.
Rangers are actively looking to add more attacking options to their squad. Manager Russell Martin has already made seven new signings during this transfer window as he seeks to reshape his squad for the new season. The potential addition of Moore would further bolster their attacking capabilities.
