A shocking incident occurred at the Ramada Hotel in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman crashed her SUV into the hotel's reception area. The incident, which took place late on the night of July 25th, was captured on CCTV and quickly went viral on social media.
Reports indicate that the woman, an advocate, had visited the hotel for dinner with her husband, a doctor. After the meal, she took the driver's seat and attempted to reverse the vehicle. However, instead of pressing the brake, she mistakenly pressed the accelerator. This caused the SUV to speed backward uncontrollably.
The CCTV footage shows the white SUV brushing past a parked car at the entrance before crashing through the hotel's main glass door. The force of the impact shattered the glass, sending shards flying as the vehicle came to a halt inside the reception lobby. Staff and guests can be seen running in panic to avoid the car and the falling glass.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Four individuals, including two near the entrance, narrowly escaped injury by jumping out of the way. While the hotel's glass facade was badly damaged, the situation was resolved peacefully between the hotel management and the woman's family. No formal complaint was filed, and the hotel manager referred to the crash as a "small incident".
The video circulating on social media has drawn various reactions. Some users commented on the other car "sneaking out" without checking to see if help was needed. Others suggested that driving tests in India should be more rigorous.
