Farah Khan recently revealed that veteran screenwriter Salim Khan had reservations about his son, Salman Khan, entering the Bollywood film industry. This revelation came during an episode of Farah Khan's cooking show, where she was in conversation with Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem.

During the show, Huma and Saqib shared their personal experiences of their parents being initially hesitant about their decision to pursue acting careers. Huma mentioned that her mother was scared because they didn't know anyone in Mumbai and was worried about how they would survive. Saqib recalled his father's reaction when he expressed his desire to go to Bombay to become a hero. His father's doubtful response made him question his decision for ten days.

In response to their experiences, Farah Khan shared that Salim Khan also had similar doubts about Salman Khan becoming an actor. She said, "Salim Khan had the same doubt about Salman Khan and now he's bhai". Saqib Saleem responded to it and said, “Fantastic, fantastic!”.

Despite his initial reservations, Salim Khan recognized Salman's potential and "star qualities" after seeing his first film. In a conversation with Arbaaz Khan, Salim Khan said that he knew Salman had the potential to become a star, but he was also aware of Salman's nature of not taking things seriously. He believed that Salman himself could be the only one who could harm his career.

Salim Khan has always been candid about his views on Salman's career choices. He admitted that he would often advise Salman on what not to do. According to Salim, Salman is the kind of person who realizes the problem after it has already occurred. Drawing from his own experience, Salim Khan would try to prevent Salman from making the wrong choices.

Adi Irani, an actor and friend of Salman, shared an incident that highlighted Salim Khan's critical approach towards his son's career during his early days. Adi mentioned that Salim Khan would say that Salman was only focused on building his body and thought that was enough to become an actor. Salim Khan believed that there was much more to acting than just physical appearance.

Salman Khan made his acting debut in the 1988 film "Biwi Ho To Aisi," where he played a supporting role. He later starred in "Maine Pyar Kiya," which was a major breakthrough in his career. Over the years, Salman has established himself as one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood.

In February 2023, Salim Khan said he was always confident Salman Khan was going to be a star, but was scared for him. He said that if anyone can harm him, it is himself. Salim also acknowledged Salman's improvement as an actor, appreciating his work in films like "Sultan" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".
