In a momentous announcement for rock music enthusiasts in India, the Smashing Pumpkins have revealed their long-awaited debut performances in the country. As part of their "Rock Invasion 2025" Asia tour, the iconic alternative rock band will perform in Bengaluru on October 11, 2025, at Terraform Arena, followed by a show in Mumbai on October 12, 2025, at Jio World Garden.

Formed in Chicago in 1988, the Smashing Pumpkins emerged as a defining voice of the 1990s rock era. With their unique blend of gothic rock, grunge, and shoegaze influences, the band gained widespread recognition for their albums "Siamese Dream" and "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness". The band is composed of vocalist-guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. They are complemented by live members Jack Bates on bass, Katie Cole on multi-instrumentals, and guitarist Kiki Wong.

The Smashing Pumpkins have produced a string of hits throughout their three-decade career, including "Bullet With Butterfly Wings," "Zero," "Tonight, Tonight," and "1979". The band's impact on the rock genre has been recognized with two Grammy Awards.

The "Rock Invasion 2025" tour marks the band's first extensive tour of Asia in over a decade and their first-ever performances in India and the Middle East. The tour will commence in Japan in September 2025, with subsequent stops in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Busan, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi.

In a statement, the Smashing Pumpkins expressed their excitement about finally coming to India, stating that their music has been shaped by the country's culture. They hope this will be the first of many trips to come.

Deepak Chaudhary, Founder and Managing Director of EVA Live, the event company presenting the India tour, called bringing The Smashing Pumpkins to India a landmark achievement for the country's live music ecosystem. He believes India is ready to welcome one of alternative rock's most influential bands and promises an unforgettable experience.
