Tanisha Mehta is experiencing a whirlwind of emotions as she joins the cast of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2". The actress, who plays Vrinda Patel, the love interest of Angad Virani (Rohit Suchanti), describes the opportunity as "surreal" and a "huge honour". The iconic television drama is back with Season 2, reviving the magic of one of India's most beloved serials.
Mehta acknowledges the responsibility that comes with being part of such a celebrated show. Raised in New Zealand and Australia, she dedicated herself to mastering Hindi through classes and workshops. She is giving the role everything she has and hopes the audience welcomes her with the same love they've always given to the show. "I get goosebumps every time I think about it," she says.
Vrinda's character has similarities to Tulsi Virani, played by Smriti Irani, but also has some differences. Both Vrinda and Tulsi are righteous and smart. However, Tulsi is strong, while Vrinda is still growing and a bit innocent.
Tanisha's introductory scene showcased Vrinda protecting the holy Tulsi plant in heavy rain, just like Tulsi. Tanisha also has a connection with the Tulsi plant in her real life. She believes the plant holds deep cultural and spiritual significance. It protects the home from negative influences and brings positive energy, happiness, and harmony, and represents devotion as a reminder of spiritual values and traditions. It is one of the plants that Tanisha planted at her home after she shifted.
Tanisha follows a ritual of visiting the mandir every Monday morning to perform Mahadev Abhishek. Every morning she offers jal (water) to Surya devta (sun), and also to the Tulsi plant. It's a quiet, grounding practice that brings her a lot of peace.
The actress is grateful to Ekta Kapoor for this opportunity. Tanisha's former co-star Namik Paul wished her luck, and she responded warmly. Besides Tanisha Mehta and Rohit Suchanti, the new cast of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" includes Shagun Sharma as Pari Virani, Aman Gandhi as Hrithik Virani, Prachi Singh as Anandi Patel, and Ankit Bhatia as Vardaan Patel. Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay will reprise their roles of Tulsi Virani and Mihir, respectively. Shakti Anand returns as Hemant Virani, and Ketaki Dave returns as Daksha Virani.
Tanisha Mehta is known for her performances in shows like "Lag Ja Gale" (2023) as Ishani Kulkarni, "Shubh Laabh Aapkey Ghar Mein" (2021–2022) as Shreya Toshniwal, and "Aashiqana" (2022). She was also seen in "Ikk Kudi Punjab Di" (2023).
"Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" airs on Star Plus daily.
