In Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, police have attached the property of a terror handler based in Pakistan. The Kathua police in Bani executed the attachment on Tuesday after receiving an order from the Additional Sessions Court in Kathua. The property, which is worth lakhs, belongs to Mohd Ashraf, son of Manawar Din, a resident of Lowang village, Bani tehsil, Kathua district, who is currently operating from Pakistan. The property measures 16.5 Marlas.
The police have been investigating Ashraf's involvement in terror activities for over two decades. He later moved across the border. The action was taken under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), as the accused is wanted in a terror-related case registered at the Bani police station in 2001. During the investigation of the case, the property was identified as belonging to the absconder.
According to a police spokesperson, this action underscores the dedication of the police to combating terrorism and dismantling its support network. The operation reaffirms the commitment of police to combat terror activities and break the terror ecosystem.
