A shocking incident has come to light in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where a 28-year-old woman named Nikki has died after allegedly being set ablaze by her husband and in-laws over dowry demands. The horrific event, which took place in Sirsa village, Dadri, has sparked outrage and prompted a police investigation.

Nikki, who had been married into the family since 2016, reportedly faced continuous harassment for dowry, beginning just six months after her marriage. Her sister, Kanchan, who is also married into the same family, stated that both she and Nikki were subjected to torture and that the in-laws had demanded Rs 36 lakh.

On the night of the incident, Nikki was allegedly beaten unconscious by her husband, Vipin, and then set on fire in front of her son. Disturbing footage has emerged showing Nikki engulfed in flames as she desperately hobbled down the stairs of the building. Other videos reportedly show Vipin and another woman physically assaulting Nikki, pulling her hair. Vipin is seen without a shirt, with bloodstains visible on his stomach and back.

NDTV reported that a haunting video captured Nikki, engulfed in flames, limping down a flight of stairs just hours before she died while being transported to a Delhi hospital on Thursday.

According to the Free Press Journal, Vipin Bhati, Nikki's husband, was allegedly addicted to alcohol and involved in an extramarital affair, even allegedly registering a court marriage with another woman.

Police have arrested Vipin, and a search is underway for other members of the in-laws' family who are implicated in the crime. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are gathering evidence to build a strong case against all those involved in this heinous act.
