The upcoming release of "Metro… In Dino," slated for July 4th, 2025, has already generated considerable buzz, particularly surrounding recent screenings attended by its star-studded cast. The film, directed by Anurag Basu, is being described as a spiritual sequel to his 2007 hit, "Life in a... Metro".

The movie features an ensemble cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. The film explores multiple stories of love and relationships in modern urban settings. Specifically, "Metro… In Dino" weaves together four distinct love stories, portraying young couples, middle-aged partnerships, and older pairs, all within the chaotic backdrop of city life.

The early reviews of "Metro... In Dino" suggest that the film is striking an emotional chord with viewers. Social media reactions highlight the film's heartwarming narrative and its exploration of relationships in a bustling city. One viewer described it as a "nicely shot film about different people and their relationships in a big city". The music, composed by Pritam, is also receiving praise for adding to the movie's emotional depth. Performances by Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Fatima Sana Shaikh are particularly being lauded.

Ali Fazal, who also stars in the film, shared his insights on working with Anurag Basu, noting the director's unique style and the musicality infused into the film. According to Fazal, Basu often provides rhythms or beats to guide the actors, which helps them map out their performances. He also humorously recalled his initial days on set, where he felt lost without a traditional script, a common practice under Basu's direction.

Konkona Sen Sharma, who also starred in the original "Life in a... Metro," returns for the sequel, offering a unique perspective on how the idea of love has evolved since the first film. She emphasized that love is not limited to one's youth and that "Metro... In Dino" explores love in midlife, a theme often overlooked in cinema. She also fondly remembers Irrfan Khan, her co-star from the first film.

Anurag Basu revealed that the idea for "Metro... In Dino" was sparked by a conversation with the late Irrfan Khan. Basu shared that Irrfan had suggested making a "Metro 2" after their collaboration on "Jagga Jasoos," planting the seed for this film.

"Metro In Dino" reportedly cost ₹100 crore to produce and promote, with ₹85 crore allocated to production and ₹15 crore to advertising. However, even before its release, the film has already earned ₹70 crore through non-theatrical sources. Box office predictions estimate that the film could earn around ₹10-12 crore on its opening day.
