The trailer for the highly anticipated action thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, is set to release on July 25, 2025. This film is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe and a sequel to the 2019 hit War.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, War 2 promises to be a high-octane action spectacle. The film features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, with Jr NTR making his Bollywood debut as Agent Vikram. Kiara Advani also stars in a leading role. The cast also includes Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana, who will reprise his role as Colonel Sunil Luthra from War.

The film's script is written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, based on an original story by Aditya Chopra. Pritam is composing the music, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The film score is composed by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara.

War 2 is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 14, 2025, during the Indian Independence Day weekend. It will be released in standard, IMAX, 4DX, and other premium formats, with dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu.

The plot revolves around Kabir, who has gone rogue and is now considered India's greatest villain. India sends Agent Vikram, a Special Units Officer and a "relentless Terminator" driven by his own demons, to stop Kabir. According to a synopsis, the film will be a "brutal Cat versus Rottweiler game" with "spectacular action and heart-wrenching emotion".

The trailer, which has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), is expected to be 2 minutes and 39 seconds long. The makers believe the promo will significantly boost pre-release buzz and set the stage for a massive box office opening.

Principal photography commenced in October 2023, with extensive shooting in Mumbai and sporadic schedules in Spain, Italy, and Abu Dhabi. In August 2024, Kiara Advani shot her introductory scene at the Infiniti Mall, Malad. A 15-day schedule took place in Italy across Venice, Lake Como, Naples, Tuscany, Sorrento Peninsula, and the Amalfi Coast in September 2024, where a song featuring Advani and Roshan, along with a few action sequences, were filmed. An action sequence featuring Jr NTR was shot in Andheri in October 2024. The film's climax was shot in December 2024 at constructed sets in Film City and YRF Studios in Mumbai.
