Vicky Kaushal's Pride: 'Sam Bahadur' Garners Three National Awards, A Moment of Celebration and Joy

As the 71st National Film Awards were announced on August 1, 2025, Vicky Kaushal expressed his immense pride and congratulated the team of "Sam Bahadur" for their wins. The film, directed by Meghna Gulzar, secured three National Awards, including Best Feature Film on National, Social, and Environmental Values.

Vicky Kaushal, who portrayed India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the war biopic, shared his joy on Instagram, writing, "So proud!!! Congratulations team (heart emoji)". His message reflected the happiness and honor of being part of a film recognized at the national level.

"Sam Bahadur" received accolades for its strong visual appeal, direction, and detailed production. Meghna Gulzar's direction and Vicky Kaushal's performance were particularly appreciated for bringing the story of a real hero to life. The film also won awards for Best Make-up and Best Costume Design.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP, expressed his pride in "Sam Bahadur" winning the National Award. He stated that winning the award for "Sam Bahadur" is a matter of great pride for RSVP. Screwvala also expressed gratitude to the jury and audiences for their support, which motivates them to create meaningful cinema.

The 71st National Film Awards celebrated the best of Indian cinema across various languages and categories. The awards were announced in New Delhi, with the jury submitting their final report to Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Dr L Murugan.

In addition to "Sam Bahadur", other films and actors were also recognized for their outstanding contributions. Shah Rukh Khan (for "Jawan") and Vikrant Massey (for "12th Fail") shared the Best Actor award, while Rani Mukerji won Best Actress for her role in "Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway". "12th Fail" also won the award for Best Feature Film. Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" was named the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

The National Film Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place later this year at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
