Following an NDA parliamentary party meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to criticize Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making false claims. The context of this criticism involves statements made by Rahul Gandhi regarding territorial issues and the security of the country.

Rijiju stated that the Supreme Court had "straightforwardly rebuked" Rahul Gandhi for making unsubstantiated claims that thousands of square kilometers of Indian territory have been occupied by the Chinese army. Rijiju characterized such statements as "extremely harmful for the nation" and demoralizing to the armed forces. He further added that the Supreme Court's "warning" served as a strong rebuke, emphasizing that "as an Indian, Rahul Gandhi should not speak like that".

PM Modi also addressed the NDA parliamentary party meeting, where he indirectly referred to Rahul Gandhi's statements, suggesting they were akin to "aa bail, mujhe maar," a Hindi phrase for someone asking for trouble. Modi stated that the opposition had created a "fake narrative" regarding Operation Sindoor, which the government destroyed during parliamentary discussions. He added that the opposition's demand for a discussion on Operation Sindoor had backfired, embarrassing them.

The NDA parliamentary party meeting also addressed other issues. PM Modi was felicitated for his leadership during Operation Sindoor, and a resolution was passed praising him and the armed forces for their valor during Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. Rijiju also introduced new members of Parliament at the meeting.

The criticism leveled against Rahul Gandhi and the emphasis on national security and territorial integrity occurred against a backdrop of ongoing parliamentary disruptions. The opposition has repeatedly demanded a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and has sought the withdrawal of the SIR exercise.
