Here's a breakdown of the latest petrol and diesel prices in various cities as of August 15, 2025:

Kenya

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced new fuel prices effective today, August 15, 2025. The prices for super petrol and kerosene have decreased by Ksh1, while diesel prices remain unchanged.

  • In Nairobi, the new prices are:
    • Super petrol: Ksh185.31 per litre
    • Diesel: Ksh171.58 per litre
    • Kerosene: Ksh155.58 per litre

These prices will be in effect for the next 30 days. The price changes are inclusive of a 16% Value Added Tax (VAT). The landed cost of imported super petrol decreased by 0.73% from June 2025 to July 2025. However, the average landed cost for both diesel and kerosene increased by 3.08% and 3.20% respectively, during the same period.

Philippines

Motorists in the Philippines should anticipate mixed movements in fuel prices in the coming week.

  • Gasoline: Increase of around P0.50 per liter
  • Diesel: Decrease of around P0.70 per liter
  • Kerosene: Decrease of around P1.00 per liter

These projected adjustments are influenced by developments in the international oil market. These include aggressive OPEC+ supply growth, weaker global demand outlooks, and easing trade tensions between the US and China.

Pakistan

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) is expected to decrease by approximately Rs. 11.50 per liter, while petrol prices may see a slight increase of Rs. 1.40 per liter for the upcoming fortnight starting August 16.

  • The ex-depot price of petrol currently stands at Rs. 264.61 per litre.
  • HSD is priced at Rs. 285.83 per litre.
  • Kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO) prices are also expected to decrease by Rs. 6 and Rs. 7 per litre, respectively.

These adjustments are driven by fluctuations in global oil markets and recent movements in the exchange rate. International petrol prices edged up by 15 cents per barrel, while diesel prices dropped by $4.5 per barrel over the past two weeks. Additionally, the rupee has slightly appreciated against the US dollar.
