Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a strong attack against the Congress party, accusing them of undermining the Constitution and retaining unjust laws. Speaking at the inauguration of national highway projects in Delhi-NCR, Modi stated that those who "dance with the Constitution on their heads" have actually "trampled" it and betrayed the sentiments of B.R. Ambedkar.
Modi highlighted the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, as an example of an oppressive law, which allowed for sanitation workers to be jailed for a month if they missed work without prior notice. He questioned the Congress's claim of working for social justice while such laws remained in place, emphasizing his administration's efforts to abolish these unjust laws. "It is Modi who is tirelessly finding and abolishing such unjust laws and this campaign continues relentlessly," he added.
The Prime Minister also criticized the previous Congress government in Haryana, alleging corruption in employment practices. He claimed that during Congress rule, it was difficult to secure any job appointment without paying money or using influence. In contrast, he asserted that the BJP government in Haryana has provided government jobs to lakhs of youth with complete transparency.
Furthermore, Modi attacked Congress for prioritising corruption over development. Modi said that if Congress is a guarantee for corruption, he is a guarantee for action against graft. He also accused the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh of becoming an "ATM" for the party, alleging widespread corruption across various departments.
