Reports of a potential split between Bollywood veteran Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been circulating, with their daughter, Tina Ahuja, recently addressing the rumors. The speculations gained traction after Sunita Ahuja shared an emotional vlog on her YouTube channel, which many interpreted as a hint toward marital issues. Following this, reports surfaced alleging that Sunita had filed for divorce at Mumbai's Bandra Family Court.

Tina Ahuja has dismissed these reports as "baseless," stating that she doesn't pay attention to such rumors. When asked about her parents' reaction to the gossip, she said, "Kya bolun main? He is not even in the country". Despite the rumors, Tina expressed gratitude for the concern and support her family has received from the media, fans, and loved ones. She emphasized that she feels blessed to have a beautiful family.

However, other sources suggest that the divorce rumors may have some basis. Some reports claim that Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce on December 5, 2024, citing "cruelty and adultery" as grounds for separation under the Hindu Marriage Act. These reports allege that she approached the Bandra Family Court under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, which covers adultery, cruelty, and desertion. It has also been reported that the court summoned Govinda in May 2025, but he did not attend the proceedings, leading to a show-cause notice. Meanwhile, Sunita has reportedly been attending the court-mandated counseling sessions.

Adding to the ambiguity, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, acknowledged that Sunita had filed a divorce petition some time ago, but stated that things are now getting settled. He also mentioned that the family plans to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi festival together, with Sunita overseeing the preparations. Govinda's lawyer, Lalit Bindal, also dismissed the reports as "old news".

Amidst the swirling rumors, Govinda made a public appearance where he seemed unfazed by the reports. He was seen dressed in white, posing for photographers and blowing kisses.

The couple, who married in March 1987, have been together for approximately 38 years and have two children: Tina and Yashvardhan. This isn't the first time rumors of separation have surfaced. In February 2025, similar reports emerged, with sources suggesting that Sunita wanted to end the marriage.

Adding another layer to the situation, an emotional Sunita Ahuja seemingly addressed the situation in a vlog, hinting at trouble in her marriage and stating that anyone who tries to break her family will not be forgiven. In the past, Sunita has spoken about the challenges of being married to an actor, admitting to having a worse temper than Govinda and acknowledging the difficulties of managing his professional life.
