Shahid Kapoor has officially wrapped up his fourth film with acclaimed director Vishal Bhardwaj. The actor shared his excitement on social media, expressing that his "excitement levels are off the charts" for this latest collaboration. While the film's title is currently under wraps, Kapoor teased fans by describing it as a "super special" project with a "madly different character" for him to play.
This marks the fourth time Kapoor and Bhardwaj have worked together, following the success of films like "Kaminey" (2009), "Haider" (2014), and "Rangoon" (2017). In a recent interview, Kapoor described the new movie as their "most open" project to date, highlighting its appeal and relatability. He also noted a certain "quirkiness" reminiscent of "Kaminey". The film is reportedly slated for release on December 5, 2025.
The film is a love story set against the backdrop of the Mumbai underworld in the 1990s. The final schedule included a major action sequence filmed in Malaga, Spain, utilizing the area's rugged terrain, and a vibrant dance number.
Kapoor also lauded the film's cast, which includes Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, and Farida Jalal. He specifically praised Dimri, encouraging audiences to "watch out for her act in this one," and thanked Patekar for their "oh so layered scenes" together. Disha Patani is also part of the film, with Kapoor teasing that they "killed the 2 songs" together. Vikrant Massey will also be making a special appearance.
According to reports, the film was shot in Spain. A large action sequence was filmed in Malaga with Kapoor and several stunt artists. The film is being produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
In addition to this currently untitled project, Kapoor has several other projects in the pipeline. These include "Deva," scheduled to be released on January 31, 2025, and "Arjun Ustara," an action thriller web series also featuring Triptii Dimri. He is also rumored to be starring in "Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya 2" with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. Furthermore, "Farzi Season 2" is reportedly in development, with a possible release in late 2025 or early 2026.
