Actor Akshay Oberoi is reportedly joining the cast of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming action thriller, "King". Oberoi has flown to Poland, where the film is currently being shot.
A source close to the production confirmed that "King" is indeed being filmed in Poland and that Oberoi will be there for a week, shooting in the capital. While Oberoi has remained tight-lipped about his role, his past collaboration with director Siddharth Anand on projects like "Fighter" and "Flesh" has fueled speculation about his involvement in the film.
"King" marks the first time Shah Rukh Khan will share screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, and Abhay Verma. Abhishek Bachchan is reportedly playing the antagonist.
The movie is directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously worked with Shah Rukh Khan on the 2023 action hit "Pathaan". Initial filming began in Mumbai months ago, with Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma. Production has since moved to Poland, where Arshad Warsi has also joined the cast. Some of the film's action sequences are rumored to be shot at the iconic Palace of Culture in Warsaw.
News reports suggest that "King" aims to film in various locations across Europe. While some reports pointed to Prague as a potential filming location, the current schedule has the crew in Poland. The film is expected to wrap up shooting by September or October 2025 and is slated for release in the summer of 2026.
Prior to joining the "King" shoot, Akshay Oberoi has been involved in other projects, including the upcoming film "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari", which features Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Maniesh Paul.
