The match, held at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan, on Sunday, August 31, saw a thrilling encounter where Bangladesh emerged victorious, but India clinched the title due to their unassailable lead in the points table.
Bangladesh started the match strongly, with Purnima Marma scoring within the first minute. India quickly responded, as Anushka Kumari equalized in the 9th minute. However, Bangladesh regained the lead in the 34th minute through Alpi Akter, and extended their advantage in the 48th minute with a goal from Sauravi Prity. India fought back, with Pritika Barman scoring in the 65th minute and captain Julan finding the net in the 89th minute to level the score. Just when it seemed India would salvage a draw, Prity scored again in injury time, securing a 4-3 win for Bangladesh.
