Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary Bollywood actor, has expressed regret over not being able to spend more time with his children, Abhishek and Shweta, during their childhood years. In a recent episode of his popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, the 82-year-old actor shared his feelings about how his busy work schedule kept him away from his family when his children were growing up.

Bachchan revealed that he would often leave for work early in the morning when his children were still asleep and return late at night, finding them asleep again. He acknowledged that this was a source of regret for him. During an interaction with a contestant on Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bachchan shared, "Our environment was very simple. Jaya would take care of the kids, and I would go to work". He further added, "But there is one thing that I really regret, and that is I couldn't spend time with my kids when they were little. I used to work from morning to night. When I would leave in the morning for work, they would be sleeping, and when I used to come back home, they would be sleeping. Jaya took care of them completely".

Amitabh Bachchan has been a part of the Bollywood industry for almost six decades. His career began with Saat Hindustani, but he achieved his breakthrough with Zanjeer. He married Jaya Bhaduri, a veteran actress and politician, on June 3, 1973. Together, they have two children: Shweta Bachchan Nanda, an author, journalist, and former model, and Abhishek Bachchan, an actor and producer. Abhishek is married to actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and they have a daughter named Aaradhya. Shweta is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda, and they have two children, Navya Naveli and Agastya.

To compensate for the lost time, Amitabh made a conscious decision to dedicate Sundays entirely to his family. He stated, "Sometimes I wish that I could spend time with Abhishek and Shweta. But then it was decided that I will not work on Sunday, and it will be completely dedicated to my family. We used to make food for the kids and eat with them that day. Even today, we follow the same tradition that on every Sunday, the whole family sits together and has food together". This tradition of spending Sundays together as a family continues in the Bachchan household.

Amitabh Bachchan's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a renowned Hindi poet, and his mother, Teji Bachchan, was a social activist. His family has a rich history and a strong presence in the Indian film industry and politics. Despite his professional success, Amitabh Bachchan's regret highlights the importance of family and the challenges of balancing a demanding career with personal life.
