Eligibility Criteria
- Master's degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university.
- Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR.
- Candidates with a Ph.D. degree (as per UGC norms) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of a written examination and a personal interview.
- Written Examination: The written exam holds 75% weightage in the final selection. For Mathematics, the test consists of 100 questions, with 70 on Maths and 30 on General Studies. For other subjects, there will be 90 questions from the concerned subject and 30 from General Studies.
- Personal Interview: The personal interview carries 25% weightage.
Salary Structure
The pay scale for UPPSC Assistant Professors ranges from Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000 and Level-10 compensation. The in-hand salary for a newly recruited Assistant Professor is approximately ₹70,000 - ₹85,000 per month, which increases with yearly increments and promotions. Additional benefits and allowances include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA).
