A 19-year-old youth has been arrested in Noida for allegedly bludgeoning his father to death during a drunken brawl. The tragic incident occurred in Sarfabad village, where a dispute over money for alcohol and family property escalated into violence.

According to police officials, the accused, identified as Uday, had been consuming alcohol with his father, Gautam, 43, when the argument erupted. Both men were unemployed and struggled with alcoholism. The family's primary source of income was the land they owned, further fueling the tensions surrounding property.

Sector-113 Station House Officer (SHO) Krishna Gopal Sharma stated that the fight over property and money for alcohol intensified, ultimately leading to the murder. Police were alerted to the incident on Sunday morning and arrived at the scene to find Gautam deceased, with visible head injuries.

"Uday killed his father Gautam, son of Kedari Mahashay, by hitting him with a brick," the Noida police said in an official statement. A forensic team was dispatched to inspect the site, and a "panchnama" of the body was conducted as part of the standard legal procedure. Uday has been taken into custody, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have stated that a thorough investigation is currently underway.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend of alcohol-related violence and family disputes. In a separate incident in Greater Noida, a 28-year-old man was arrested for killing his specially-abled friend after a scuffle that broke out when they were drinking together. The argument in that case was also reportedly about buying more liquor. Similarly, in Gorakhpur, a father shot his son dead for opposing his alcohol habit. In another case showcasing property disputes leading to violence, a man in Delhi was arrested for beating his father to death over a property disagreement. The accused, who was also intoxicated, had been pressuring his father to transfer his property.
