Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a two-day workshop, dubbed 'Sansad Karyashala', organized for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) in New Delhi. The workshop served as a platform for discussions on diverse issues and aimed to enhance the skills of the MPs.

PM Modi's presence at the event was marked by a gesture of humility, as he chose to sit in the last row alongside other party members. This action was widely perceived as a demonstration of his dedication to the party, prioritizing his role as a party worker above his position as Prime Minister. BJP MP Ravi Kishan shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter), commenting that Modi sitting in the last row reflects the strength of the BJP, where everyone is a "karyakarta" (worker).

During the workshop, BJP MPs felicitated PM Modi for the NextGenGST reforms, with Union Minister Piyush Goyal moving a resolution in support. Sources indicated that PM Modi also offered suggestions to the MPs and adhered to the workshop's guidelines.

The 'Sansad Karyashala' included sessions focusing on "Towards a developed India by 2027" and the "effective use of social media by MPs". Discussions also encompassed key sectors such as agriculture, defense, energy, education, railways, and transport. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal noted that PM Modi provided "visionary guidance" to the MPs on implementing public welfare schemes and matters of national interest.

PM Modi expressed his thoughts on the workshop in a post on X, stating that it was a valuable forum for exchanging perspectives and deliberating on serving the people better. He emphasized the importance of platforms like 'Sansad Karyashala' for learning from each other.

The workshop is designed to enhance the MP's legislative skills, governance strategies, and political communication. Sessions also focus on advancing the Centre's development agenda while countering the Opposition.

The workshop also addressed preparations for the upcoming Vice Presidential election, scheduled for September 9. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has nominated CP Radhakrishnan, while the INDIA bloc has fielded B Sudershan Reddy. The electoral college for the Vice Presidential election comprises 788 voters, including members of both houses of Parliament. A formal mock poll was conducted to train MPs on the voting procedures.
