A heartwarming moment between actor-director Dhanush and his son, Linga, has captured the attention of fans after a video of them dancing together went viral. The occasion was the audio launch of Dhanush's upcoming film, 'Idli Kadai,' which took place on September 14, 2025, in Chennai.

Dhanush and composer GV Prakash were on stage performing "Enjami Thandhaane" from the movie when Linga joined them. Towards the end of the song, Dhanush started dancing and encouraged his son to join in. The father-son duo then impressed the audience with their synchronized steps. After the performance, Dhanush hugged Linga, who touched his father's feet as a sign of respect, further melting the hearts of those in attendance. The impromptu dance and the sweet gesture that followed highlighted Dhanush's family-oriented persona, endearing him to fans.

The audio launch also provided a platform for Dhanush to share the personal inspiration behind 'Idli Kadai'. He recounted a childhood story about his craving for idlis and the struggles his family faced in affording them. Dhanush explained that he and his sister would wake up at 4 a.m. to collect flowers from the neighborhood and sell them for a couple of rupees. With the money earned, they would buy four or five idlis, which he described as an unbeatable satisfaction. This experience served as the foundation for the film's plot, adding a layer of depth and personal connection to the project.

'Idli Kadai' marks Dhanush's fourth directorial venture. Besides directing, he also stars as the lead in the movie. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Nithya Menen, Sathyaraj, Arun Vijay, Samuthirakani, Rajiran, Shalini Pandey, and Parthiepan in pivotal roles. 'Idli Kadai' is set to release in theaters on October 1, 2025.
