At the end of the first day of the second unofficial Test match in Lucknow between India A and Australia A, Australia A reached 350/9, with Nathan McSweeney's 74 and Jack Edwards' 88 being instrumental in the score. Manav Suthar, the left-arm spinner, was the standout performer for India A, claiming five wickets.

Australia A's innings saw contributions throughout the batting order. After India A won the toss and chose to field, Prasidh Krishna struck early, dismissing Campbell Kellaway. However, Sam Konstas (49) and captain Nathan McSweeney then stabilized the innings, building a partnership of 86 runs. Suthar then triggered a collapse, taking wickets of Oliver Peake and Cooper Connolly in quick succession to leave Australia A at 150/4. McSweeney then built another partnership of 52 runs with Jack Edwards before Suthar removed him as well. Edwards continued the momentum with a counter-attacking innings, scoring 88 off 78 balls, including 11 fours and 1 six. He propelled the score past 300. Suthar completed his five-wicket haul by dismissing Josh Phillippe, Will Sutherland and Corey Rocchiccioli. Gurnoor Brar eventually dismissed Edwards. Todd Murphy (29) and Henry Thornton (10) were at the crease when play ended due to bad light.

Manav Suthar's impressive performance marked his fifth five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. He replaced Harsh Dubey in the India A lineup for this match. His victims included key Australian batsmen, disrupting their momentum at crucial stages of the game.

On the other hand, the India A's pace bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna had a disappointing day. Siraj conceded 73 runs in his 13 overs and took one wicket, while Krishna gave away 63 runs in 14 overs, also managing a single wicket. Gurnoor Brar took 2 wickets.

Before the match, Shreyas Iyer withdrew from the India A squad, with Dhruv Jurel taking over as captain. The first unofficial Test between the two sides ended in a high-scoring draw.
