Dhanush Recalls Childhood with Selvaraghavan, Humorously Exposing Brother's Mischievous Pranks and Sibling Rivalry.

Tamil superstar Dhanush recently shared amusing childhood anecdotes about his elder brother, the acclaimed filmmaker Selvaraghavan. In anticipation of his upcoming film 'Idli Kadai', Dhanush revealed some of the mischievous antics Selvaraghavan would pull during their younger years.

Dhanush recalled how Selvaraghavan would always find a way to outsmart him, whether it was on the cricket field or at home. According to an IANS report, Dhanush shared that when they played cricket, he always ended up bowling while his brother unfairly took the batting position. "He was elder to me by eight years and therefore, he would appear huge and I would appear to be small in front of him. He would call me to play cricket. By hook or crook, he would win the toss and elect to bat first," Dhanush said. Due to their age difference, Dhanush struggled to get Selvaraghavan out and would have to bowl for three to three and a half hours. Even if Dhanush managed to get him out, Selvaraghavan would never bowl to him.

Adding to the list of Selvaraghavan's childhood pranks, Dhanush revealed his brother's habit of stealing his saved pocket money, highlighting his mischievous nature. The 'Sir' actor recounted how Selvaraghavan would steal the money he had painstakingly saved. "We had ten paise, 20 paise, 25 paise, and 50 paise. I would collect all that in the hope of buying something to eat. Just when the money saved reaches four or five Rupees, he would come and steal it. Therefore, he was the naughtier of the two,” Dhanush revealed.

Dhanush's sister, Dr. Karthika, has also shared some childhood secrets about the siblings. According to her, Dhanush had dreams of becoming a chef and practiced vegetarian cooking from a young age. It was only after his debut in 'Thulluvadho Ilamai' that the family realized his acting talent. Karthika also revealed that Selvaraghavan was often behind the fights between the siblings and enjoyed watching them. Furthermore, he would dominate the television, watching only what he wanted, leaving the others to settle for it.

These anecdotes provide a glimpse into the childhood of the two influential figures in Tamil cinema, showcasing the playful dynamic between the brothers. While Selvaraghavan may have been the "naughtier" one, these experiences likely contributed to the strong bond and mutual respect they share today.

Dhanush's upcoming film, 'Idli Kadai,' is slated for release on October 1. The audio launch of the film, held in Chennai on September 14, has already generated buzz. At the event, Dhanush shared that as a child, he always craved idlis but couldn't afford them, adding a personal touch to the film's origin story. He also mentioned how he and his sisters used to collect flowers and sell them to earn money.
