Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is set to release on October 2, 2025. The Karan Johar-produced romantic comedy has been given a U/A certificate with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

According to Pinkvilla, a source close to the production described Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari as a "fast-paced entertainer" that has been "tactfully packaged comedy with music and drama in a crisp run". The film's runtime is similar to previous romantic comedies starring Varun Dhawan and directed by Shashank Khaitan. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania had a runtime of 2 hours and 13 minutes, while Badrinath Ki Dulhania was certified U/A with a runtime of 2 hours and 19 minutes.

The source also drew parallels between Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Dhawan's earlier Dulhania films, noting similarities in tone and appeal, stating, "Much like Humpty and Badri, this one is also a packaged family entertainer with romance in the forefront".

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment. The film features an ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, with Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi in supporting roles.

The movie is about two ex-lovers trying to win their love back. Amidst a tale of deception and comical misunderstandings, an accidental love story blossoms.

The film's release date of October 2, 2025, coincides with Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. However, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will face competition at the box office from Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1. The makers of Kantara: Chapter 1 have reportedly asked for 100% occupancy in single-screen theaters and multiplexes. One exhibitor said that they would like to play Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari as well because it "looks like a fun entertainer, which will attract family audiences and youth".

The first look of Varun Dhawan in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has been revealed, promising a romantic family drama. The official trailer for the film was released on September 15, 2025.
