Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to take a কঠোর stance against individuals conspiring to incite unrest and disturbances in the state. This directive comes in the lead-up to the Dussehra festival, which Adityanath has described as a celebration dedicated to the triumph over evil and terror.
Adityanath expressed strong dissatisfaction with recent incidents involving objectionable processions and provocative slogans in several cities, including Kanpur Nagar, Varanasi, Moradabad, Budaun, Maharajganj, Unnao, Sambhal, Agra, and Bareilly. He asserted that these incidents indicate a "well-planned conspiracy" aimed at disrupting the state's peace and harmony, which will not be tolerated.
In response to these concerns, Adityanath has ordered the immediate filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) against those involved in these untoward activities. He has further instructed authorities to identify both the organizers and masterminds behind these events and to investigate their properties. The Chief Minister has emphasized a "zero-tolerance policy" against criminal activities and misinformation, urging officials to maintain public order through comprehensive oversight, especially during crowded public events.
Furthermore, Adityanath has linked the recent violence to a history of targeted actions against Hindus, particularly under previous state governments. He referenced a judicial commission report on the November 2024 Sambhal violence, which he said confirmed a conspiracy for riots in the town. The report also highlighted a sharp demographic shift in Sambhal, a plot to target Hindus, and the role of radical groups and outside rioters in the unrest. Government sources stated the report claims that Hindus have been the primary target in every riot since 1947. The report also credited the Uttar Pradesh Police with preventing a massacre.
Adityanath stated that Uttar Pradesh is moving from a policy of "appeasement" to one of "satisfaction," where there is no room for demographic shifts. He stressed that his government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents of the state and will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace and harmony.
