Ranbir Kapoor, the Bollywood actor known for his versatile roles, recently shared anecdotes from his school days, revealing a strict upbringing and some mischievous behavior. In an interview, Kapoor recalled an incident where he was caught trying to sneak out of class and faced the consequences in a memorable way.
Kapoor described himself as a "great copier" who usually avoided getting caught cheating. However, he recounted a specific instance when he attempted to crawl out of his class while it was in session, only to be confronted by the principal. The principal then gave him "the beating of my life". He humorously stated that "the echo of that slap still resounds in my ears". In another interview, Ranbir stated that the principal "slapped my face from one corridor of the school to another, held my head, turned me the other way, and then slapped me on the way back".
Kapoor attended Bombay Scottish School, which he described as a strict convent school. He admitted to being beaten up "a lot" by the principal. Despite the strict environment, Kapoor acknowledged feeling special due to his family background, noting that while teachers didn't treat him differently, his presence generated curiosity among his peers.
Despite not being a strong student academically, Kapoor has said that he "was a bad student... among the last three in the class, but I never failed". He mentioned scoring 54.3% in his 10th standard exams and humorously recalled how his mother and family were overjoyed at him passing, as he was the first male member of his family to pass school without failing.
Aside from academics and occasional disciplinary issues, Kapoor also spoke about his passion for football, which began in school. He fondly remembers the first time his name appeared in the newspaper for scoring a goal during a school competition, a memory his mother, Neetu Kapoor, cherishes and has preserved in a newspaper clipping.
Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is garnering attention for his upcoming action film, "Animal," directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, set to release on December 1, 2023. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol.
