Ajith Kumar, the Tamil superstar and avid racer, recently participated in the prestigious 24-hour Creventic Series in Barcelona. Amidst the high-octane environment, he took a moment to express his gratitude for his wife, Shalini, acknowledging her unwavering support in managing their home and raising their children, Anoushka and Aadvik.

In an interview with India Today, Ajith candidly admitted that he has had to sacrifice family time to pursue his passion for motorsports. He credited Shalini for "holding the fort" and managing everything in his absence. He emphasized that Shalini handles so many things, and without her support, he wouldn't be able to pursue his racing career.

Ajith expressed that parenting, especially with their daughter starting her undergraduate studies and their young son adjusting to a new school, would be impossible without Shalini's dedication. He acknowledged the sacrifices she makes, noting that these sacrifices are often unseen and not fully understood. "The children hardly get to see me, and I miss them as much as they miss me," he shared, highlighting the emotional toll of balancing his passion with his family responsibilities.

Ajith also reflected on Shalini's constant support throughout his racing journey. He recalled that when they married in 2002, he had just returned to racing, and she was present at every event. While she stepped back to focus on raising their children, she continues to follow motorsports. Ajith mentioned that their son has also developed an interest and has started go-karting, though not yet at a serious level. Ajith said he would give his son time to decide if he wants to pursue it and that he would support his children in every way possible, whether in films or racing, without forcing his own views on them.

Known for balancing his passion for racing with his dedication to family, Ajith was spotted sharing affectionate moments with his family before leaving for a racing championship in Dubai earlier this year. He celebrated the New Year with his family in Singapore. Despite his busy schedule, Ajith makes time for his family. He was recently spotted enjoying a go-karting session in Chennai with Shalini and Aadvik.

Ajith's film 'Vidaamuyarchi,' which was initially slated for release in January 2025, has been postponed. Ajith is currently preparing for his next film, 'Good Bad Ugly,' which is set to release in theaters on April 10.
