Awez Darbar's stint on Bigg Boss 19 came to an end after his eviction on Sunday. The social media influencer and choreographer, despite having a massive online following, failed to connect with the audience inside the house. His eviction occurred shortly after he received a "reality check" from his sister-in-law, Gauahar Khan, a former Bigg Boss winner.
Darbar's journey in the Bigg Boss house was marked by a struggle to make a strong impression. Host Salman Khan repeatedly urged him to be more vocal and involved in the game. Gauahar Khan's appearance on the show aimed to give Darbar a much-needed wake-up call. She advised him to take a stand and not allow others to overshadow him. During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Gauahar directly addressed Awez, emphasizing the need for him to speak up on issues and fight his own battles. She warned him that if he remained lost, he would have no chance in the show.
Despite the advice, Awez's eviction followed shortly after. He was in the bottom three along with Ashnoor Kaur and Pranit More, ultimately receiving the fewest audience votes. His departure left some of his close friends in the house emotional, with Abhishek Bajaj expressing disappointment in Awez's reluctance to fight for himself.
During his time on the show, Awez formed friendships with Gaurav Khanna, Ashnoor Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj, Mridul Tiwari, and Pranit More. However, he also had clashes with Baseer Ali and Amaal Mallik. Amaal and Baseer accused Awez of messaging other girls while in a relationship with Nagma Mirajkar, leading to accusations of character assassination. The allegations stirred up controversy within the house and left Awez visibly shaken.
Awez entered Bigg Boss 19 with his girlfriend, Nagma Mirajkar, and even proposed to her on the show. Nagma was evicted two weeks prior to Awez. The couple had planned to marry in December but postponed their wedding because of Bigg Boss 19.
Before his eviction, Awez revealed a past traumatic relationship, sharing that his girlfriend had cheated on him with multiple people. He admitted that this experience left him shattered and wary of relationships. Varun Dhawan, who was present during the episode, confirmed Awez's account and praised his resilience.
Gauahar Khan had also previously defended Awez against Neelam Giri's rude behavior, expressing her support for her brother-in-law. She praised Awez's genuine nature and his attempts to console Neelam despite her attitude.
Awez Darbar's eviction has sparked discussions among fans, with many expressing disappointment that he couldn't implement Gauahar Khan's advice before his departure. Despite his large social media following, Awez's performance in the Bigg Boss house failed to resonate with the audience, leading to his elimination. According to reports, Awez earned between Rs 5-8 lakhs per week during his five-week stint on Bigg Boss 19, totaling approximately Rs 40 lakhs.
