Amazon Fresh has significantly expanded its reach in India, now serving customers in over 270 cities. This expansion includes smaller cities and towns like Gorakhpur, Dehradun, Coimbatore, and Jamshedpur, demonstrating Amazon's commitment to making everyday products accessible across the country. The expansion coincides with the Amazon Great Indian Festival, allowing customers to purchase household essentials and festive favorites.
With this expansion, Amazon Fresh now offers customers a selection of over 40,000 products, a ten-fold increase from the 4,000 products available in 2023. The product range includes fresh fruits and vegetables, staples, dairy, packaged foods, frozen items, beauty, baby and personal care items, and pet supplies. Amazon Fresh also offers over 3,000 region-specific items, catering to local tastes and preferences with products like Rajdhani atta and GRB sweets.
Amazon Fresh provides convenient two-hour delivery slots. The company utilizes slotted deliveries in two-hour windows, covering at least 90% of the pincodes in the cities where it operates. Major metropolitan areas like Bengaluru have over 20 fulfillment points, while smaller cities are served by a single center.
Srikant Sree Ram, Director of Amazon Fresh India, stated that Amazon Fresh has grown 4.5 times in reach and 10 times in selection in just two years. He attributes this growth to the expansion of Amazon Fresh's seller network and presence across cities, combined with Amazon's advanced delivery capabilities.
Amazon Fresh has established a farm-to-doorstep network, connecting 13,000 farmers to millions of customers. The company sources nearly 70% of its fruits and vegetables from within a 200km radius of customer locations.
Vinod Nambiar, Managing Director of More Retail Limited (MRL), an Amazon Fresh seller, mentioned that they have converted over 370 of their offline stores to also serve Amazon Fresh customers.
