In Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, four policemen have been suspended after a 22-second video went viral showing them dancing at a birthday party of a known criminal. The video, recorded on Monday night, shows the officers in a festive mood, holding beer bottles and dancing with a bar girl.
The suspended officers include the in-charge of the Sahibabad border outpost. The video captures the officers in what appears to be a celebratory atmosphere, swaying to music with beer bottles in their hands.
This incident is not isolated, as other instances of police officers facing disciplinary actions for inappropriate behavior at parties have recently surfaced. In Madhya Pradesh, two policemen from the Civil Lines police station in Datia were suspended after a video circulated showing an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) dancing inappropriately with female dancers at a birthday party. The video showed the ASI making suggestive gestures while dancing to Bollywood songs at a constable's birthday party on September 2nd. Datia's Superintendent of Police (SP), Suraj Verma, immediately ordered the suspension of both officers after the video went viral.
Another incident in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri involved an ASI who was suspended after a reel appeared online showing him dancing with a wanted criminal, Rohit Parihar, and a young woman. The video, shared on Instagram, also displayed a beer can on a table while they danced to lyrics about escaping police custody. Shivpuri SP Aman Singh Rathore condemned the ASI's actions as "unbecoming of service" and initiated a departmental inquiry.
These incidents highlight the importance of maintaining professional conduct and ethical standards within law enforcement. Authorities are taking these matters seriously, initiating investigations and disciplinary actions against officers found engaging in inappropriate behavior. The investigations are ongoing, and further disciplinary actions may be taken.
